How to Achieve Your Health and Beauty Goals for 2018
The start of a brand new year is a common time to set health and beauty goals that can make your life better, such as a new skincare routine, diet or exercise plan. Being able to successfully achieve those goals can end up being more of a challenge than you anticipated, though. Whether you’re interested in making minor or major changes to your appearance and well-being in 2018, keep the following tips in mind.
Limit the Number of Goals
Setting too many goals can leave you feeling discouraged about working toward achieving them. If you have more goals than you can handle, you might end up losing your motivation and giving up working on any of them. Instead, come up with one to three goals that you know you’ll be able to focus on in the new year. A smaller number makes it easier for you to keep track of how you’re doing along the way, which makes you more likely to accomplish your goals.
Set Attainable Goals
When you sit down to write out a list of health and beauty goals for 2018, make sure you’re not setting yourself up for failure. Make a list of goals that you can realistically achieve, so that you won’t become too frustrated to continue working on accomplishing them. For example, figure out how you can make progress towards that goal or what measures might help, such as doing cardio workouts one to three times a week or booking a few Vaser® sessions to help lose stubborn fat. Setting a goal that’s too difficult or nearly impossible to reach won’t keep you motivated. Being able to see your progress while working toward attainable goals encourages you to keep going.
Hold Yourself Accountable to Others
It’s easy to find excuses for not sticking to your new year’s goals when the only person you have to answer to is yourself. Instead, ask someone else to hold you accountable by checking in with you regularly to see if you’re working on your goals. Having to let another person know whether or not you’ve worked towards your goals can provide you with a big motivational boost.
Track Your Progress
You don’t have to wait until sometime later in the new year to see if you’ve reached your goals. Track your progress throughout the year, so you can see for yourself that what you’re doing is making a difference. If you’re not making much progress, you can make adjustments to your goals to make them more attainable. Knowing that you're making progress toward your health and beauty goals helps keep you going.
